FAQ

Is credit repair legal?

Absolutely! Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) gives you and licensed lawyers the right to accurate credit reporting.  By law you have the right to view, verify or remove items from your credit listings. Recently, a misconception was spread by credit companies that it was illegal, but that’s not the case.

How long will it take to restore my credit?

No one can predict how long a case may take.  Every single case differs substantially. It would not be right for any company to state just how long any one case would take. In many cases our clients see a marked progress in the first two months and steady improvement following that. In general, clients are usually done with our program within 3 to 6 months.

Why is it important to monitor and repair my credit?

Inaccurate information can affect the success of future credit applications and loans. With the sheer volume of credit information going back and forth, it’s not uncommon for credit profiles to be inaccurate or outdated. Often it’s only until you are denied credit that problems are brought to your attention.

Will deleted items reappear on my credit report?

When an item has been deleted, occasionally, verification comes in later on behalf of the creditor. The Fair Credit Reporting Act recently modified its language to keep items from being re-reported on your report. Also, you must be informed before an item that was taken off before can be reported again. Once removed, it is quite unusual for a listing to show up again. If an item is re-reported, it is a simple matter to challenge the listing and press for permanent deletion.

Is there any guarantee with this program?

The Credit Repair Organizations Act prohibits credit repair organizations from making any guarantees. And, as with any legal work, a lawyer is not able to promise that an outcome will be favorable. Our preferred attorneys have seen extremely positive results and are willing to back their claims with a refund policy which returns some (or all) of your investment if enough questionable items were not removed.

However, we do offer the following NO RISK triple warranty with every membership:

  • If there are no items deleted or updated on your credit report within 90 days of service, you will receive a full refund upon request.
  • If your credit scores do not increase after 90 days of service, you will receive a full refund upon request.
  • You receive a lifetime warranty on all items that are deleted from your credit report during our program

Could I be punished in any way for fighting back against the credit bureaus and creditors?

There is a misguided believe that if you fight back you could face government punishment. This is a myth. You have the legal right to challenge the information that is in your credit report. We have preferred attorneys to present your case in the most effective way possible. Data that is not correctly validated under the law has to be deleted regardless of whether it is true or not.

Why should I hire a credit repair company? Can’t I do this myself?

Yes, you can. However the process is complex and time consuming. To be effective, you need to learn the quite a few credit skills, and are required to wear the hats of an attorney and CPA.  The question is: How valuable is your time, and do you have the aptitude and inclination to put in the necessary time and effort? Our preferred credit dispute experts (and on staff attorneys) are credit restoration professionals. They work day and night, 24/7, to protect your rights in accordance with all applicable consumer protection laws. With the sheer volume of accounts handled they have the expertise to complete a task faster and more efficiently than a layperson could.  But just as you might not choose to repair you own vehicle, it isn’t necessary to tackle credit repair alone.

Will paying off all of my bills return my credit to good standing?

Although this is a very logical assumption, unfortunately it is not true. There is nothing logical about the credit reporting system. An item will actually appear on your credit report longer if you make a payment. This is because any activity causes the seven-year time clock to reset and begin again. Surprisingly, a negative debt that has been paid in full is not viewed any differently than a debt that has not been paid, and has a negative listing. In the majority of cases, when you don’t use professional help, you will not get too far by paying off the old debts. Regrettably you may sink even further behind.

Will I receive a new Social Security number, Tax ID or receive a new credit file?

Absolutely not!  These drastic measures risk loss of freedom, income, and community standing. If you see an advertisement for “NEW CREDIT FILE OVERNIGHT,” steer clear!!!  We use preferred attorneys so we can legally challenge the credit bureaus, exercise our clients’ rights, and force the deletion of unfavorable information from your credit report.

Why do you recommend a tri-merge (3 bureau) credit report?

In order for us to properly analyze your credit, we need to review your full credit report as it is currently being reported with each of the three bureaus. This allows for us to check for inaccuracies between the bureaus. Finding mistakes on your credit report is common and it often leads to those accounts being deleted.
